A couple driving through the Woodlawn neighborhood in Stafford on Saturday, May 21, saw a man pushing a bike that looked familiar. In fact, it looked like the bike someone had stolen out of their garage days before, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.
The man told them that it was an honest mistake. A friend had given him the bike, and he had no idea about it being stolen. But when the couple called 911 to clear up any confusion, the man threw the bike down and ran away. Though, they snapped a photo of him as he bolted and showed it to the authorities.
Deputies noticed the man was wearing a Little Caesars Pizza employee shirt. They showed it to the manager at the closest franchise who recognized him as a former employee.
Jarius Humphries, 30, was arrested on Wednesday, May 25, and is being held without bond, the Sheriff's Office said. Officials charged him with breaking and entering, grand larceny and obstruction.
He's being held without bond.
